LITTLE KIDS. BIG DIFFERENCE.
Annie and Ainsley are two environmentally conscious girls
who founded the "Little Kids. Big Difference" Club in 2007
because they wanted to make the planet a better
place for all living things.
Annie is a local resident of Hattiesburg, Mississippi who loves the earth and animals. In fact, she loves animals so much that one day she hopes to be a veterinarian. She is the cofounder of "The Green Kids Club", which was recently renamed "Little Kids. Big Difference."
Annie wants the planet to be around for generations to come, and she does her part to ensure that happens by recycling. Along with her family, she goes to a local recycling facility, called Camper Park, once a week to do their part for the earth.
As a leader for the club, Annie is also collecting soda can tabs. If she collects and turns in one pound of tabs, she gets a person in need a free cancer treatment in the Rush Hospital in Meridian. This is something she is very excited about.
Ainsely is a local resident of Hattiesburg, Mississippi who has always loved animals and nature. As she learned more about what happens to trash when it is not recycled, she became interested in being 'green' as a way to help the earth last longer.
Ever since she cofounded the club in 2007, Ainsley has been hard at work with the help of her fellow club members, encouraging others to recycle. She cannot stand the thought of landfills taking over our planet. In order to reduce landfill waste, she has helped organize several activities and fundraisers to encourage her community to live a 'green' lifestyle.
With the money that the club raises from their fundraisers they hope to get their school a dishwasher and new plates, so they don't have to use Styrofoam.
